Erik and I went back to the lake I got the big fish last weekend. I started fishing the same way as last time, counting down big soft plastics, and I got a small jack. And I really had confidence in the method, but I was wrong... it turned out that the fish hugged the bottom more. So no more counting, just let it sink. Erik got a nice 43" (109cm) by bottom hopping a Boggs Big Boy. We had a lunchbreak trollingrun and he caught another nice one, 45" (115cm) on spicker picker by big game tackle. My lure also got nailes, so I stuffed my whole tortilla in my mouth, and it was offcourse just a small jack... At the very end of the day I casted out my sucker coloured bulldawg and sat down while it sank, I turned towards Erik and put my rod over my shoulder, a few seconds later I felt "someone" tapping my shoulder, FISH! I jumped up in a 180 spin and set the hooks on a very slack line, fortunately the pike had engulfed the bulldawg, so Erik netted it after a not so fierce fight. My back and shoulder aches were gone and I fished a few minutes more and hooked into a fish, I thought was quite big, just heavy power runs and very little headshaking, just the big fish thugs. Unfortunatly the fish didnt live up to my expactations, but I managed to cut my fingers pretty bad while holding it up for pictures. Oh well, no pain no glory.
43" (109cm) The cuts came from a fish half the the size, feisty as he**
